Gunpla Builders Australia is a forum and Facebook group that I admin. We run fun competitions from time to time called 'Gunpla Challenges' and recently, we ran one called '28 Days Later' where the Challenge was to take any Gunpla kit and build and paint it within 28 days of a specific start date. I chose to participate with a HGUC Nemo.
Assembly was easy, it's a typical modern HGUC kit. I even took time to do a review on my YouTube channel I was that impressed by the kit and it's design. After that was done, I decided to give him a candy green paint job, trying to keep the OOB colours but do them in candy.
The blue areas were done by laying a clear blue over the top of the black base. I was spraying some Metallic silvers before hand and ended up getting some flecks in the clear blue which resulted in some interesting effects.
Some basic panel lines were done next with black and then a small amount of decals applied. I finished up by hand brusing small details on such as the energy pipes and the like.
All up it only took about 3 weeks from start to finish, working a little bit here and a little bit there. If I did it super seriously, I could've easily done it within 7 days. All up, it was a fun and distracting build that has helped break up the monotony of my GBWC entry.
