SD Stargazer Gundam

It's been a while since I did a Gundam kit, and even longer since I completed an SD kit, so I thought it would be time to knock one together.
The main reason behind building this kit was to try out a popular technique called marbling, which is adding a marble pattern to the paint. Check out the DIY section to find out how I actually did it.
The kit itself is a simple affair and it was assembled in under half an hour. A few modifications were made, such as filling the legs and such, to make it look a little less like a toy.
The painting was really straight forward with the only hard part being the marble effect (which in itself was quite easy). The paints used were :
- Tamiya Sky Grey
- Tamiya Black
- Tamiya Medium Blue
- Mr Metal Color Brass
- Mr Metal Color Chome
I was planning on painting the eyes and gold stripes, but decided against it as the stickers that come with the kit looked fine. The only thing I did to the stickers as to cut the green eyes away from the black background.
For the base, I used an old electronic board and the Stargazer was attached with some Loctite 401.
All in all, it was a quick and simple build and while not my best work, it served the purpose I built it for - a test bed for the marbling technique. It's good to build Gunpla again!
