Zaku II : Remnants of War
![]() |
This one was a quick build I threw together in a couple of hours (over a couple of days). I had the Zaku already painted from the old Guncannon vs Zaku diorama I did a few years back. I recently decided to redo the Guncannon so I thought instead of wasting the Zaku by throwing it out, I decided to make it into a long forgotten relic of the One Year War.
I began with a plastic lid that was recessed and then cut the Zaku to fit in such a way as it was sitting on the bottom of the lid and above the lip. It was glued into place and then the lid was filled with Plaster of Paris. Once the plaster had dried, I topped that with some filler and then added some rocks left over from the Kshatriya build.
The earth was painted with brown and the rocks washed with a very thin mix of brown and grey. Flock was added next then bushes and trees to give an overgrown and forgotten look. For the final touch, I had some 1/144 scale soldiers in the pile so I added 3 of those and there you have it - the Remnants of War!
